I got some samples of jerky treats from Benni and Penni at SuperZoo. They also had samples of some brand new treats that hadn't hit the store shelves yet. One of them was full of ginger root, and intended to help dogs with motion sickness. Sisci gets carsick occasionally, and I found this concept intriguing. I haven't seen anything like it. Unfortunately, Benni&Penni did not have have samples of the ginger jerky for me to take home to my dogs. They didn't even have packaging for it yet, yet a cookie jar full of jerky for conference attendees to touch and smell. It smelled really good.
This is a feel-good company founded by someone who made some awesome treats for their pet and wanted to share with the world. The company produces their treats right here in Southern California, and even their packaging is made in the USA. They dehydrate their treats, so the jerky is soft and chewy just like beef jerky for people. I personally refuse to each jerky that crunches.
Good For: Peppy cattledogs that like food. Training treats, the pieces are scored so they're easy to break into the right size. Staying soft even after the bag is opened. Dogs with food allergies to anything but duck or peas.
Not Good For: Picky chihuahuas and border collies.
How Much We Like Them: I need to find a local store that carries these. It really shouldn't be that hard, right?

Treat Tuesday: Blue Buffalo BlueStix Lamb and Apple Recipe
I got these Blue Buffalo BlueStix Lamb and Apple treats right after Brisbane had his second surgery. He had a mouthful of stitches and was eating very soft food, and I wanted to find a convenient and non-perishable treat that wouldn't hurt his mouth. A lot of treats are advertised as "soft and moist", but the BlueStix are VERY SOFT.

These are also exceptionally cool because they come in four different flavors, and three of those are safe for Brisbane's poultry/egg/corn/barley/sweet potato allergies. There are quite a few sticks in the bag, and they are very easy to tear into tiny pieces for training. I'm not normally a huge Blue Buffalo fan, but some of their treats are perfect for Brisbane.
Good For: Dogs with allergies. Dogs with sensitive mouths. Dogs with mouths full of stitches. High-value training treats.
Not Good For: Taking more than a few seconds to eat.
How Much We Like Them: Next time I need to grab a super convenient bag of training treats on my way to class, this is what I'm grabbing.

Treat Tuesday: Loot Pets Chicken Chargers
These Loot Pets Chicken Chargers arrived in our May power-themed Loot Crate. They were easily the best thing in the box. Easily. These are moist, meaty treats that are easy to tear into tiny training treats. They are tasty enough that even Ru eats them, and they don't dry up and become rock hard instantly.

Good For: High-value training treats. Staying moist and tasty for an extended period of time. Picky dogs.
Not Good For: Dogs with chicken allergies.
How Much We Like Them: There were enough in the bag to make it through two different agility classes. If I tear them into fairly large chunks, they work well for tossing because Sisci can easily find them in the grass.
